Chris Reeves, RICS accredited lawyer mediator and founder of M4C will be at the NEC Birmingham from 23 to 26 March for the biggest homebuilding and renovating event in the UK - The Homebuilding & Renovating Show. At midday Chris will be giving his ever popular seminar on how to find a reliable builder and compare quotes on a like for like basis followed by a 3:00 session on the most common renovation and home extension mistakes and how to avoid them.
Chris will be joining regular show favourites including TV presenter and architectural designer Charlie Loxton on the "Ask the Expert" panel at which construction professionals as well as "amateurs" alike can discuss their projects in detail.
Chris said "I have been fortunate in being able to support the HBR shows for a number of years now. The shows are incredibly popular with not only members of the public but the trade and professionals too. I do recommend a trip to the NEC if you can make it and if you do then please pop along to the seminars or the advice centre - there are probably no self build and renovating questions that can't be answered by one of the experts or by many of the trades and professional bodies - I am pretty sure there is even a chance to try your hand at some of the trades!"
The HBR website can be found here http://national.homebuildingshow.co.uk/
Constructing Excellence South West, in collaboration with Mediation for Construction (M4C), has identified the need to highlight how mediation can and should be used to resolve disputes and Constructing Excellence South West has given its support and encouragement of the use of mediation as a process of resolving disputes.
To promote the greater use of mediation, a CESW Construction Mediation Guide and Protocol has been prepared by a drafting committee: Alan Tate (Trowers and Hamlins LLP), Chris Hoar (Michelmores LLP), Stephen Homer (Ashfords LLP) and our founder Chris Reeves.
